Contacts lists in SharePoint provide a "Link to Outlook" button. Hitting this will cause the SharePoint Contacts to appear as a Contacts folder in Outlook. Pretty swank piece of integration.
Still trying to get my head around some aspects of SharePoint, as we'll have to start shuffling our Exchange Public Folder users over to it. The version of Exchange after 2007 is not expected to support Public Folders...
