No, not software piracy.
I spent about a decade as a performer at the Texas Renaisance Festival. The latter half of that time, I portrayed a pirate character named Thomas "Spyglass" McKinnah, Chief Gunner of the "Pride o' Bedlam". Since then, I've also fallen in with a group of pirate enthusiasts known as the Texican Privateers. Every year (except for '05, when the event was called on account of hurricane Rita), we've held a Bucanneers Beach Bash, complete with copious amounts of rum, playing very dangerous games with swords and gunpowder, barbeque (which is thoroughly piratical, but that is the subject of a future post), and stripping down them that arrive without proper piratical attire and selling them off as galley slaves.
